How to take the love language quiz

Each question gives you two options. Pick the one that would mean more to you, even if both sound nice.

  1. Answer all 20 choices on your own, without overthinking.
  2. Press the button to see your result and what it means.
  3. Send the quiz to your partner with the link in your result.
  4. Compare your two results and talk about one example from real life.

Your first instinct is usually the most honest answer.

What a love language is

A love language is the way you most easily feel cared for. The idea comes from Gary Chapman's 1992 book The 5 Love Languages.

The five are words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service and physical touch. Most people value all five, with one or two that matter most.

Partners often give love in their own language, not in the other person's. That gap can leave both feeling unseen, even when both are trying.

The result is a starting point for a conversation, not a label to argue about.

What to do with your result

Share your result with your partner and ask about theirs. Then name one small, specific action for each of you this week.

Daily moments matter more than grand gestures. Our guide to bids for connection and turning toward explains why small responses add up.

Small and often beats big and rare.

How Pragma helps you act on it

Pragma is an AI relationship coach for two. Each of you gets a 15-minute session a day, by voice or chat.

Each session ends with one small thing to try tonight, shaped by what you have shared. Read about the AI relationship coach app for couples to see how it works.

Pragma is a coach, not a therapist. It does not diagnose or treat, and many couples use it alongside therapy.

Frequently asked questions

Is this love language quiz free?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and works on any phone or computer. Your answers stay in your browser and are not saved.

Can my love language change?

Yes. What you need can shift with stress, a new baby or a new stage of life. Retake the quiz once in a while.

What if my partner and I have different love languages?

That is very common. It simply means each of you needs to learn the other's language. Start with one small action a week.

Is this the official quiz from the book?

No. It is our own free quiz, based on the five categories Gary Chapman describes. It is not connected to the book or its author.
