Pragma · Marriage help app
Marriage help app for two partners: Pragma.
Pragma is a marriage help app for two partners. Each of you talks with an AI coach for about 15 minutes a day, by voice or chat. Every session ends on one small thing to try. Pragma is an AI relationship coach, not a therapist. It does not diagnose or treat.

Download Pragma on your phone
Free to download on iPhone and Android. Each of you gets a private 15-minute session a day, by voice or chat.
This page is for the partner who is ready to try an app tonight. It shows what the app does, what your partner can see and what it costs. Want the honest overview of what any app can do first? Read our marriage help guide.
What you get
What Pragma does for a marriage
The app gives a married couple a short daily practice, one person and one phone at a time. It is built for the weeks when work and kids leave no room for a long talk.
A daily session
Each of you has a 15-minute session by voice or chat. You bring one situation, such as Sunday's argument about money. The coach asks what happened, helps you name the pattern and ends with one thing to try.
Three coaches
You pick one of three coaches and can switch any time. Juno, Connection Coach, is warm and empathetic and leans on Emotionally Focused Therapy. Aria, Clarity Coach, is structured and uses CBT-style questions. Kai, Momentum Coach, is encouraging and solution-focused.
The point is a daily rhythm, not a weekly appointment.

How it works
How a marriage help app works for two partners
In Pragma, each partner has a private account, and the two accounts are paired by a code. This is what an AI marriage help app for two partners should do: share the practice, not the words.
- One of you starts alone. Download the app or start on the web. The more worried partner can begin tonight without waiting.
- The other joins with a code. When your partner is ready, they join with an 8-character invite code.
- Each of you practices privately. Your partner sees your completion and your streak. They never see your words or transcripts.
Transcripts are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The Journal keeps each session with its date, length and an AI summary. It is private to you and never shown to your partner. That gives you room to think something through before you say it aloud.
So a couples app for married couples can be shared without becoming a window into each other's thoughts.

Between sessions
The Practice and The Blueprint: what you do between sessions
The Practice gives you 13 programs of 7 to 10 days, with one short task a day. Each task comes with a tip, and each day ends with a short written reflection.
The Six-Second Kiss is a seven-day ritual based on the Gottman Method. The Soft Startup spends seven days on raising a complaint without starting a fight. Speaking From Needs is a seven-day program built on Nonviolent Communication.
The Blueprint is your view over time. It shows sessions, minutes, streaks, recurring patterns and how often you followed through on the exercise.
Small, repeated steps are the whole idea.

The science
Built on methods couples therapists use
The coaching is built on six methods that couples therapists train in. They are the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, Nonviolent Communication, attachment theory and positive psychology.
Each method is credited on our methods page. Pragma is not affiliated with or endorsed by the owners of these methods. If you want the background on the best known one, read our overview of the Gottman Method.
The app works in six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Arabic. That helps couples who speak another language at home.

For comparison, a licensed couples therapist typically charges $150 to $300 for a 60-minute session in the US. A year of Pragma for one partner costs less than one session at those rates. It is not a substitute for counseling when your marriage needs it.

Safety first
When to get more help
An app like this is not for abuse, danger, trauma or thoughts of self-harm. It is not for a mental health condition that needs treatment.
In the US, call or text 988 at any hour. The Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233. You can find more helplines on our crisis resources page. Pragma is not an emergency service.
For betrayal, or a pattern you cannot interrupt on your own, see a licensed therapist. Many couples use both a therapist and an app.
