Pragma · AI conversation feedback
Couples communication app with AI conversation feedback: which kind Pragma is.
A couples communication app with AI conversation feedback gives you an outside view on how you talk. Some coach one partner privately, some sit in on a talk for two, and some let you rehearse. Pragma is the private kind, built for two partners on two phones. After each session, you get an AI reflection on what surfaced. Pragma is a coach, not a therapist.

Free to download on iPhone and Android. Each of you gets a private 15-minute session a day, by voice or chat.
This page is for couples who keep talking past each other. It covers the kinds of AI feedback, how Pragma's works for two and what it costs. It also says when it is not enough. To see a full session first, read what an AI relationship coach does for couples.
Inside Pragma
Three kinds of AI conversation feedback for couples
Apps use the same words for different things. Know which kind you want before you download.
| Kind of feedback | How it works | Example, checked 11 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Private coaching | Each partner describes a conversation; the AI coaches that person | Pragma; Figlet |
| A joint session | Both partners talk with the AI together | CoupleWork's partner sessions with its AI coach Maxine |
| Rehearsal | You practice what to say before the real talk | Pragma; most general chatbots |
CoupleWork's App Store listing says you can speak with Maxine alone or together with your partner. Empathi's Figlet facts page describes message-based coaching built on EFT, with a Team Us plan for both partners.
What you get
What Pragma does for couples who want AI conversation feedback
Pragma gives each partner a private, guided session about the conversations that went wrong, or the one coming up. It does not listen to your talks together.
A daily session
Each of you has a 15-minute session by voice or chat. You describe last night's talk, or rehearse tomorrow's. The coach asks questions, points out the pattern and ends with one thing to try.
Feedback after the session
The Journal keeps each session for you alone. Each entry holds the AI's reflection, a short list of what surfaced, and the conversation itself.
Three coaches
You choose one of Juno, Aria and Kai, Pragma's three AI coaches, and switch any time. Juno is warm and leans on Emotionally Focused Therapy. Aria is structured and uses CBT-style questions. Kai is encouraging and solution-focused.

How it works
How the AI conversation feedback works for two partners
Each partner has a private account on their own phone. You link accounts with an 8-character invite code.
The feedback you receive stays yours. Here is what each of you can see.
- Session completion, streak and exercise progress. Visible to your partner.
- Your transcripts and the AI's reflection. Never shown to your partner.
- Your words. Encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
That lets one partner speak freely without performing for the other. One of you can start alone; the other can join later.

Between sessions
The Practice and The Blueprint
The Practice has 13 programs of 7 to 10 days, with one short task a day. Speaking From Needs, seven days built on Nonviolent Communication, practices saying what you need without blame. The Soft Startup spends seven days on raising a complaint gently.
The Blueprint shows your progress over time, including what your sessions keep surfacing.

The science
Built on methods couples therapists use
The coaching is built on six methods couples therapists train in. They are the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, Nonviolent Communication, attachment theory and positive psychology.
Pragma's methods page credits each framework and shows where it appears in the app. Pragma is not affiliated with or endorsed by the owners of these methods.

Feedback is practice, not treatment. An app is not for abuse, fear of your partner or thoughts of self-harm. Pragma's privacy policy says it scans sessions for signs of crisis and points to resources. It is not an emergency service.
In the US, call or text 988 at any hour. The Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233. You can find more helplines on Pragma's crisis resources page for couples.
Honest answers
Frequently asked questions about AI conversation feedback for couples
Does Pragma listen to our conversations?
No. Pragma coaches each partner in their own private session. You describe a talk or rehearse one; it does not record your conversations together.
What feedback do I get after a session?
Each Journal entry keeps the AI's reflection, a short list of what surfaced, and the conversation. It also ends with one small thing to try.
Can my partner see my feedback?
No. Your transcripts and the AI's reflection stay in your account. Your partner sees your completion, streak and exercise progress only.
Which app gives feedback when we talk together?
Some apps run joint sessions. CoupleWork, for example, offers partner sessions with its AI coach. Pragma is built for private sessions on two phones instead.
